Packaging With A Purpose

The Plastic Plague

Cannabis aficionados have long been stereotyped as earth-loving hippies, but that image may be starting to fade as America’s booming legal weed industry contends with a growing waste problem.

The first “problem” we’re addressing is really more like a pandemic. The utterly disastrous plague of single-use plastic just keeps getting worse.  Packaging from a burgeoning cannabis industry, coming in the form of “doob tubes,” mylar, plastic sachets, jars, and pouches, litters streets across the country, piling on to a global crisis of plastic waste that ends up in the ocean and our freshwater ecosystems.

The Price We Pay for Being Cheap

CBD products are legal in all 50 states, with strict packaging requirements for regulated THC, focusing on single-use plastic designs due to their low cost and widespread availability.

In turn, the environmental consequences are devastating.

Microplastics degrade, releasing toxic chemicals into soil, contaminating groundwater, and increasing the risk of water treatment facilities failing to meet safety requirements, causing harm to ecosystems and water users.

Clean Water Action reports that marine plastic pollution has affected 267 global species, including 86% of sea turtle species, 44% of all seabirds, and 44% of marine mammals.

We’re Setting a New Standard

To combat the plague of single-use plastic, our packaging is 100% recycled post-consumer waste or biodegradable material.

1) All products are heat sealed in an Eco-Bag (0.5oz) food-grade kraft pouch (1 serving)

2) Tier 1 pouches are tied up inside the hemp jute burlap bag. Tiers 2 & 3 pouches (high-potency) are enclosed in our child-resistant box.

* 10 pouches (servings) per container

3) Items are shipped in a our custom 100% recycled post-consumer waste box and zero waste labels and tape. Even the ink is eco-friendly.
